The giant social media network is building its own data portability tool which will allow users to download a copy of everything that they have shared on the Instagram platform. This is a step forward, as it lets users have right of access to how much data is on the platform. This also helps Facebook, which owns Instagram to comply with the GDPR.
Its great to see that this tool will not only be available for European users, but it will available in the US, where it is not required to have Data Portability.
